The bulbuls are known in Chinese as 鵯 . The most commonly seen bulbul, the Chinese Bulbul (Pycnonotus sinensis), is known as the 白頭翁 or 'white-headed old man' (officially changed to 白頭鵯 'white-headed bulbul' on the Mainland).
