The orioles are referred to in Mongolian as Шаргач бялзуухай
shargach bilzuukhai
'yellowish finches' or 'bay finches'. Бялзуухай bilzuukhai is a generic term applied to small passerine songbirds. The name has since been shortened to the simple term Шаргач shargach in the official names.
