The Waxwings are known in Mongolian as Энхэт бялзуухай enkhet bilzuukhai 'peace finch'. The word бялзуухай bilzuukhai is a general term for all kinds of small songbirds in Mongolian. The name bears an uncanny resemblance to the Chinese name.
In the 2007 list, the name is combined into one word: энхэтбялзуухай enkhet-bilzuukhai 'peace finch'.
