Information is from dictionaries and other sources. Pinyin reflects Mandarin pronunciation; for some dialect names, it is no more than a polite fiction. Korean glosses are tentative. The cockatoos are known in Chinese as 凤头鹦鹉 yīngwǔ 'phoenix-headed parrot'. The cockatoos are not native to China but escapees have become naturalised in Hong Kong.
