The only Mongolian representative of this family is the White-browed Chinese Warbler, Rhopophilus pekinensis, which is found only in recent lists.

The name given to it is Сонд sond, a word otherwise found in Сонд хөмрөг sond khömrög 'sond bunting' (aka Шар хөмсөгт shar khömsögt 'yellow bunting'), which is probably the Yellow-browed Bunting or Meadow Bunting It is also found in the name Сонд бялзуухай sond bilzuukhai, possibly the same yellow-browed species.
